30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 28 Jayne's Best Physical Feature in Your Opinion
Oh golly this is a hard one to answer as I love absolutely all of Jayne's features and to me she is the most beautiful woman ever. Pin pointing on a few certain area's I'd have to say that I love her lips (she had the perfect pout) and her eyes (the same colour as mine), her legs (she had some killer legs) and of course her skin. Her skin glows and looks so silky soft.

30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 27 Favourite Jayne Quote
I'm not really into the whole quote thing. I think that with many quotes in newspapers and magazine's there is no way of actually knowing whether or not Jayne said it. I prefer to hear Jayne speak herself in interviews. I like her answer to what sex appeal is to her given in a UK interview. She said;
Sex appeal is a wonderful warm, womanly, healthy feeling.

Jayne Mansfield by Diane Arbus on display at Paris Photo LA
Mickey's Love Letter to Jayne
Another special treat. A love letter Mickey wrote to Jayne in 1966 and a rare snap of the two. These are extra special. It shows, Mickey really never did stop loving Jayne even when she had stopped loving him. Very tragic but Jayne did have a bit of a messy love life as well all know.
Jayne's Love Note to Sam
Here are two very rare photographs of Jayne and Sam accompanied by a love note Jayne wrote (in her own handwriting) to Sam. The note reads;
To My Samuel
Just because we are now mispochah
I love you
Jayne
I think Jayne was referring to Mishpocheh. A Yiddish word for Family.
No matter what these two went through together (and we all have different opinions about their relationship), they were madly in love as you can see in these photographs and in Jayne's love note.
Jayne Mansfield 1963 at Restaurant in Mexico City
I don't think I have shared this photo and link on here before but it is an old link. There is a fabulous photo of Jayne Mansfield and also one of Marilyn Monroe. It is a shame the photos are small and low quality but they are still lovely. Click the image to take you to the original page.

Check this out. It is a Gus Steven's Supper Club Program signed by Jaynie. Click the image to take you to the original link where you can read a great story of how this came about.
Jayne Mansfield Pic of The Week
Some of you may have already noticed that I added a new feature this week to the blog. I am of course talking about the new page tab at the top left hand side of the page titled 'Pic of the Week'.
Every week I will be adding a new photo of Jayne to the page. I will also be adding more page tabs along the bar so keep an eye out.
I also wanted to make a note that I have defaulted the blog layout to 'magazine' but if you prefer any of the other layouts supplied you can change it for your own viewing using the drop down box.

Jayne Mansfield Featured in April Issue of Harper's Bazaar Spain
An 8 page spread on photographer Sid Avery's work in the April edition of Spanish Harper's Bazaar features one of his shot's of our girl Jaynie. My guess is it has something to do with the recent book "Sid Avery - The Art of Hollywood Snapshot"
Jayne by Sydney Band "The Heavies"
Here is a fabulous song which was written for our Jaynie by Aussie band 'The Heavies'. I love it.

Jayne Mansfield and Bernard of Hollywood aka Bruno Bernard
Wouldn't you just love to see a Jayne Mansfield Photography book? I know I sure would. I think that if there was to be a Jayne Mansfield photography book on just one man's photographs than Bernard of Hollywood's would be it. Jayne posed for him many of times and most of his Jayne Mansfield photographs are not even in the public domain. It sure would be spectacular. Here are a few of his most well known Jayne images.
30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 25 The Best Jayne Mansfield Television Appearance In Your Opinion
I think that Jayne's appearance in the Alfred Hitchcock Hour (The Hangover) was spectacular, I would have to say that it is my favourite, but I also enjoy her appearances on Follow The Sun (The Dumbest Blonde), Burke's Law and Shower of Stars. As for her appearances and interviews as herself on television programs I quite like the This is your life special, her appearances on What's Your Line, The Jackie Gleeson Show, The Jack Benny Show, Milton Berle Show and The Merv Griffin Show and I recently got to watch Jayne's first appearance on Person to Person which I loved. I am still on a Jaynie high after watching it because it was my first time seeing it. Jayne Marie was being such a cutie and showing off her pets including a pet rabbit called Zachery who she had eat flowers from a vase. Jayne and Jayne Marie also showed Mr Murrow their ballet recital which Jayne Marie had memorized. It was such a lovely segment.

Another Screen Shot I made this one shows Jayne Marie sittingon Mumma's lap and little Zachery is eating flowers at the far right |
My Final Screen Shot. Jayne looked so lovely in this segment. |

This is as rare as they come. It's a colour snap shot taken from a member of the crowd. It sure is spectacular.

30 Day Jayne Challenge Day 23 Favourite Jayne Book
My favourite Jayne book has to be 'Jayne Mansfield A Bio-Bibliography' by Jocelyn Faris. It is literally like a Jayne Bible and a must have for collectors. It's not your usual biography but a book full of interesting facts and details about Jayne's life and career. The only thing I don't like about the book is the boring cover.
Here is what google books says about the book
This book charts the captivating life and career of Jayne Mansfield. A biography overviews her rise to fame, her three marriages and five children, and her death in a grisly automobile accident at an early age. The chapters that follow are each devoted to her performances in a particular genre, such as film, stage, and television. Each chapter contains annotated entries for her work in that media, providing cast and credit listings, plot summaries, review excerpts, and commentary. Appendices list her appearances on magazine and record covers, and an annotated bibliography discusses additional sources of information.

Jayne's Son Tony Cimber's Appearance on Married With Children
In 1990 Jayne's youngest son Tony Cimber appeared as an announcer on Episode 17 (Season 4) of Married With Children. The Episode was titled 'You Gotta Know When to Fold Em Part 2'. I tend to get a lot of questions about Tony because he has been the most reclusive of all Jayne's kids when it comes to talking about his Mum publicly. He and Matt Cimber appeared together in this short clip talking about Jayne but other than this there is not much else out there on him. So check him out in his Married With Children Appearance.
The episode can be viewed on youtube here.

30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 22 Favourite Magazine Cover
This is a photograph from my own collection. It is my favourite Jayne cover and I still get super happy knowing that it is all mine. It is a German magazine and it is very large in size and thickness. There is about a 10 page article of Jayne inside.

The Australian Women's Weekly Celebrating 80 Memorable Years Souvenir Edition Features Jayne Mansfield
The Australian Women's Weekly magazine has released a wonderful souvenir booklet featuring their magazines from 1933 - 2013. I think it is a fabulous reference for vintage magazine collectors especially if you prefer Australian vintage magazines. Plenty of old time stars are featured like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Clark Gable, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Jane Russell, Liz Taylor... The list goes on. There is the tiniest little image of a Jayne Mansfield magazine cover from February 11, 1959 where she is holding her baby son Miklos in front of his crib. I actually own this magazine it is a heartwarming cover and is very pink.
30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 21 A Destination Jayne Visited Where You Would Like To Visit
Jayne was very fortunate to travel to some really amazing places. So there are plenty of destinations she visited where I would love to visit myself but the place I would like to visit the most is Germany because I am half German and have never been.

30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Past Three Days Catch Up
Okie dokie, I missed the last two days on the Jayne Mansfield challenge because I was away so I will answer them here as well as today's challenge.
Day 18 - A role you would have liked to see Jayne Play
When I think about it there are many roles I would have liked to see Jayne play. While I think Audrey Hepburn did a wonderful job in Breakfast at Tiffany's, I can't help but wonder what the film would have been like had Jayne been in it instead or perhaps if Jayne played Holly Golightly in a theatre production. Same goes from the role of Judy in Rebel Without a Cause, I think Natalie Wood owned that part but I really do wonder what Jayne would have been like in the arms of my favourite actor James Dean (I think she would have looked far better with him on screen than she did with her other lead actors like Dan Dailey and Kenneth Moore).
Day 19 - Favourite Jayne Hairdo
I love Jayne's hair with a big bow
Day 20 - Something You Wished Belonged in Your Jayne Collection
There are many things that I wished I had in my Jaynie collection. This particular Mexican magazine I have been lusting after for quite a long time however the two times I have seen it for sale they were very expensive. I usually do get lucky though when I wait and I end up finding items that had previously sold for a lot of money for quite a cheap cost. Patience does pay off.

Jayne Mansfield Named Number 5 On The Best Curves Of All Time List
A recent UK poll naming the best curves of all time sees Jayne Mansfield in fifth place coming behind Marilyn Monroe, Kelly Brook, Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren. I think that if the poll was titled 'Most Curvy' rather than 'Best Curves' Jayne would have come before Monroe, Brook and Welch. However I am still quite happy to see that Jayne Mansfield took in 18.40 percent of the votes. Following Jayne in 6th and 7th place is Kim Kardashian and Kristina Hendricks.

Jayne Mansfield Long Lost Navy Photo
A fantastic photograph of Jayne Mansfield and daughter Jayne Marie with two Navy officers has been recently made public with a fantastic little article accompanying it. Click the photograph to take you to the original story. The only thing I disagree with is the year they think it was taken. I would say it was one of her early 60's trips not 1957.

100,000 Hits for Jaynie's Pink Palace
I've been away for the weekend and I returned to some news I absolutely loved. Jaynie's Pink Palace has reached the 100,000 views mark. I just wanted to quickly thank all my readers for following my page and taking the time to read my posts. It does mean a lot to me. I am also super thrilled that Jayne is still so much alive today in the hearts of her many fans. There are so many of us out there. I couldn't be happier. Jayne will not be forgotten by the world anytime soon. Thanks again guys. I will be coming up with a lot more interesting posts in the near future. I intend to get on top of my book, magazine and movie reviews soon too. I have missed the last couple of days on the Jayne Mansfield 30 Day challenge while I was away so I will catch up with that tomorrow. Stay tuned Jaynie peps because I have lots of great ideas for the blog.

30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 17 - Favourite Jayne Character
Huffington Post Birthday Tribute to Jayne
When we think of famous mid-century blondes, two names immediately come to mind: Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. Jayne Mansfield? Not so much.
But to me, Mansfield was so iconically 1950's/early 1960's that it almost seemed like she was manufactured expressly for that era. Her hair was not just blonde, but a butter-hued confection of perfect waves. Her body was almost freakishly curvaceousin shape, with an impossibly tiny waist that would, today, start terrible rumors of bizarre surgery. If she were anything else instead of a pin-up or actress, it would have seemed like a misuse of her natural resources. (Humor me for a moment and imagine Jayne Mansfield as a teacher or a secretary, the predominant careers for women at the time.) She played to type, focusing on "dumb blonde" roles in movies such as the delightful "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" After her death in 1967,Roger Ebert summarized Mansfield as the following:
She was a stereotype, almost a caricature, of the dumb blond: bigger, blonder, dumber, more publicity-conscious than any who had gone before.
However, Mansfield was proof that you couldn't judge this book by the cover: Her IQwas rumored to be in the 160 range and she could speak five languages. So if she would have gone in another industry, Mansfield might have been the Hedy Lamarr of her era. Who knows?
Sure, she most certainly influenced Anna Nicole Smith, but I think we can all agree that while Smith certainly had Mansfield's look, she didn't have the rest of the package. Mansfield wasn't just a model and Playmate, but a Broadway, television and film star, after all. And she could sing. Fun fact: She recorded two songs, "Suey" and "As The Clouds Drift By," with Jimi Hendrix.
On April 19th, Mansfield would have been 80. Let's take a moment to check out her most glamorous looks in the slideshow below. And, don't miss out on the visual feast that was her home (seriously, it had a heart-shaped pool) over on HuffPost Home.

LIFE Gives Jayne A Fabulous Birthday Tribute
The actress and singer Jayne Mansfield (born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933) was one of those quintessentially American pop-culture creations who helped define the country’s mood — playful, naive, expansive — in the middle part of the 20th century. That she was also, in large part, a self-created icon who reveled in publicity stunts only added, and still adds today, to her appeal: it’s difficult, after all, to dislike someone who so giddily pursues fame, and who so exuberantly embraces it once it’s attained.
Here, on Jayne Mansfield’s 80th birthday, LIFE.com remembers the archetypal blonde bombshell with a series of photos — none of which ran in LIFE magazine — made by Peter Stackpole in the spring of 1956. Mansfield was in her early 20s at the time and, while she was not yet a full-fledged movie star, she was clearly someone to watch; she had already made a name for herself on Broadway and was, it seemed, destined for bigger things on the silver screen. As LIFE wrote in an April 1956 issue:
Read more: http://life.time.com/icons/jayne-mansfield-photos-of-the-pop-culture-icon-in-1956/#ixzz2QrryhIb2Though the thought has never crossed her pretty blond head, Jayne Mansfield is one of the most interesting sociological studies to be found anywhere in the U.S. this spring. Miss Mansfield has burst dazzlingly upon the theatrical world as a star of a Broadway comedy called Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? and currently seems to be getting her name and photograph into more Broadway columns and movie magazines than any other actress alive…. Miss Mansfield is still just herself, friendly and frank, perhaps even somewhat naive in her own calculating way. This is a rare situation, for ordinarily a movie queen is presented to the public only after some studio has gone to immense expense changing her over completely, to the point where her own mother would not recognize her.
Happy 80th Birthday Jayne Mansfield
Well, the time is here to wish Jayne Mansfield a very big happy birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYNIE!!!
There are so many people in the world today who love and cherish all that you were. The world misses you terribly. I hope you will be celebrating your 80th Birthday in style up there in the heavens. I can not even begin to describe how much you mean to me.

1 Day Until the Big Day - Jayne Will Be 80 Years Old
The count down and week long celebration is almost over. Jayne's 80th Birthday will be upon us in just one more day. Here is another photo from Jayne's 33rd Birthday Party at the pink palace.
30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 16 - Fox Studio Days or Go-Go Boots and Mini Skirts
Go-go boots and mini skirts.
While I love Jayne's glamorous years during her time at Fox I just can't get enough of Jayne's happy, flirty and girlie look in the late 60's. I myself like to wear mini skirts and go-go boots and I love the big hair Jayne sported too. Especially when she teamed it with a big bow. She looked so beautiful.

Jayne Turns 80 in Two More Days
Just two more days until Jayne hits the milestone 80 years. Here she is with little Jayne Marie at the Mansfield's Madness house along with Jayne Marie's play buddies at Jayne Marie's Birthday 'Pool' Party. I love their matching love heart swim suits.
30 Day Jayne Mansfield Challenge Day 15 - Least Favourite Jayne Film
My least favourite Jayne film would have to be Las Vegas Hillbillys. While Jayne looks absolutely flawless in the film and her musical number is magical the movie its self is very dull. If I choose to watch the Las Vegas Hillbillys I skip every scene apart from the few with Jayne in them. The lengthy country music I find most irritating. Now I like Jayne's campy fun 60's B movies but this one is honestly just awful.
