Sex symbol Jayne Mansfield was tragically killed with two other adults on this date in 1967 when the car in which they were traveling struck the rear of a tractor trailer on Interstate 90 east of New Orleans. She was just 34. Three of her children-including actress Mariska Hargitay-who were sleeping in the back seat, were injured by survived the fatal crash.
