Movie Star Jayne Mansfield, one of nearly two dozen celebrities in town on May 27, 1961 for the 500 festival, held aloft her pet French Poodle, Monsieur Oui Oui (Mr Yes Yes). The pair sat in the rumble seat of a 1934 Packard V-12 sport coupe (owned by Art Isles Jr of Indianapolis).

Remembering Jayne Mansfield at Cannes 50 Years On

With all the stir and goss coming through about this years Cannes Film festival it makes you realize that 50 years have passed since Jayne's most memorable appearance at the festival. The year was 1964 and it was her second time attending, with her husband Mickey by her side and adorable pooch Galina in toe at every possible photo op Jayne oozed sex appeal while cooling off in the fountain at the Carlton Beach Hotel, twisting away like crazy on the broadwalk wearing a bikini and t-shirt and cavorting around town in skin tight dresses. Where ever she went hoards of people followed, photographers and curious locals alike. Photos of Jayne in Cannes from her 1964 trip are among our favorites ever taken of the gorgeous Jayne. Here are but a few well known images from the occasion.

Jayne Mansfield At Batley Variety Club 1967

Here is a documentary about the Batley Variety Club in Yorkshire. The documentary was made in the 80's and features two tiny snipets of Jayne performing at the club in 1967. It is a shame that there isn't more of her footage featured however it is still wonderful to see none the less, especially as the footage is in color. Enjoy xx
