Jayne Mansfield to Perform at Chicago Night Club 2013

No, I'm not kidding. Jayne Mansfield will be performing at a new night club in the Chicago area which is scheduled to open on Valentines Day 2013. This is all possible due to life like holograms of Stars like Jayne and Marilyn Monroe which will be projected onto the stage.

Jayne Mansfield Broadcast on TV Again this Christmas

On Christmas day the GSN channel will be playing an all day marathon of tv's the match game. At 8.30 am they will be broadcasting the Jayne Mansfield and Orson Bean episode from July 1964. I love this episode. Jayne is just too flawless on the program. The episode is still view-able on YouTube but I do wonder if it will be in better quality when broadcast on tv again.

Jaynie's Pink Palace Book Review: Chicago's Midway Airport

Chicago's midway airport is a relatively recent book having been published this year. It features plenty of stories and photos of Hollywood stars told by and taken by photographer Mike Rotunno. A photograph of Jayne emerging from her flight is featured in the book however there is no accompanying story of her stop over at Midway. Her photograph is also featured on the front cover. Stories reflected in the book range from the 20s to the 90s however mainly focusing on the recollections between the 20s to the 50s.

It is quite an interesting little book. The pages are neat and glossy and photos are black and white. I would recommend this book to old Hollywood fans, as for Jayne Mansfield fans I would only recommend to you if you are like me and collect books with her covers.

Jaynie's Pink Palace Book Review: Hollywood Bound by Peter Doggett

I just wanted to write a quick post on what I thought about the new book Hollywood Bound.

I have received my copy and I absolutely love it. I really do love the concept of it. Rather than just making another photography book on Hollywood stars this book is completely focused on the stars while bound. Most of the photos are either a scene from a Hollywood movie or a promotion shot for a movie. I really love the image of Jayne used inside the book as this photo has nothing to do with a movie she made. And it pleases me even more so that this image of Jayne was used as the cover.

If you like Hollywood photography books and are looking for something with a twist I would definitely recommend this book. The photos are high quality black & white, on thick glossy paper. Many great stars and wonderful cult favorite movies are featured in the book.

Here is a lovely photo of Jayne Mansfield for the movie 'The Challenge'. I love Jayne's hair in the start of the movie before her character changes her hair blonde. She always looked simply stunning in a brunette wig.
